Hello again from the Mother Ship!

You may be wondering to yourself, "where the hell are these modati people, and why aren't they updating their webpage, did they get eaten by a black hole wyrm?"

FEAR NOT

We're still here, though some of our members are in diaspora, we're still making a mess. Keep your lids peeled for new designs in for the summer.

In the meantime, if you're around sunny Ann Arbor, MI, expect to see us popping up at random concerts and markets performing live screen printing. If you give us the magic pass code ALCHEMY, and you'll get a special prize.

MARCH 26, 2008

I just wanted to thank you all for pushing forward on all our projects. Our crew really makes us and they all deserve props. Arman, great show on Monday, it was amazing, good turn out and good times. Matt, your awesome, thanks for getting the Alibi together and working so hard to keep it in shape. Bilal, our leader, you are truly amazing, try not to get to bogged down with all your side projects. We still need someone to inspire us and get us excited. Christy, thanks for the help with content. Rosy and I wanted to work on an online zine, you should do the photography for it.

We are still working to get our content up to date, but if anyone has questions please feel free to contact us. This is our dream, our future and our end. We are making our means.

MARCH 19, 2008

So, now that we as a society are starting to become more and more conscious  about our environment, MODATI would like to announce that we are currently in the works of designing an eco-friendly line of apparel, printed with water-based inks on organic shirts. Each of these designs will feature a comment about our natural world, something witty and appropriate. We are also starting to work with some local designers and organizations who are making a difference, or at least starting to spread the word. Hoping that we can forge relationships with the right people and share a percent of the profits with them. Every penny counts.

MARCH 17, 2008

We are starting to teach classes at the Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor to foster the next generation of creatives.

This class is intended to introduce the basics of sewing and garment construction, while encouraging students original style.

“You are a generation of hip, creative, resourceful DIY warriors:
Bored by traditional clothing, you want something a bit more suited to
your unique personality. You like fashion, but don't want to become
retail clones or slaves to commercial logos or fashion magazines. Come,
be inspired, become an alternative, learn, share, grow. This is a class
that will encompass all the basic techniques you will need to become
your own fashion designer. We will deconstruct, design, cut and sew our
way through several projects that will rework some of your existing
wardrobe and refresh your outlook on what fashion really can be.”
